Case study · Custom WordPress Development

Silvus Technologies

A custom WordPress website built around complex content.

A technical website needs to present detailed information clearly and give its team a practical way to manage it.

For Silvus Technologies, I developed a custom WordPress theme using Advanced Custom Fields and custom post types, bringing together tailored page templates, structured content, and responsive layouts.

Role
WordPress development
Stack
WordPress, ACF, custom post types, PHP, JavaScript, MySQL
Scope
Custom theme, content structure, frontend implementation

The challenge

Bring detailed content into a consistent website.

Product information, technical features, and company content each require different layouts.

The challenge was to accommodate those differences while keeping the website consistent and its content organised.

The build needed to support detailed pages without making every update a change to the underlying code.

The work

What I built

  1. A custom theme tailored to the project.

I developed the WordPress theme to connect the website’s layouts with its content and functionality.

Shared templates provided a consistent foundation, while custom development supported the requirements of individual pages.

  2. Structured content behind the pages.

I used custom post types to organise distinct content and ACF to provide dedicated editing fields.

This separated content entry from presentation. Information could live in defined fields, with the theme controlling how it appeared on the website.

A closer look.

Product pages that give technical information room to breathe.

The product and feature layouts bring together introductions, imagery, detailed descriptions, feature lists, and calls to action.

The StreamScape page illustrates this approach: visitors can move from a product overview into specific capabilities, then find relevant downloads or access options.

Responsive layouts for different screens.

The frontend implementation carried the website’s visual hierarchy across desktop and mobile layouts.

The focus was on adapting content, imagery, and calls to action to the available space, keeping the experience consistent as the layout changed.

The result

A connected WordPress build, from content editing to frontend presentation.

The completed work brought together a custom theme, structured content types, dedicated editing fields, and responsive page layouts.

For a business with detailed content, this creates a foundation for publishing information consistently and extending the website through its existing templates.
